Coach Jeff Arnette


Q: What year did you play at Rockwood?
A: I played in 1980, 1981, 1982 and Graduated in 1983.

Q: What position did you play?
A: I played strong safety on defense and running back and tight end on offense and was also the long snapper my junior and senior year.

Q: What coaches did you play for?
A: My coaches where Larry Davis, Clarence Holloway and the legendary C. W. Pemberton.

Q: Where did you attend college and where did you graduate from?
A: I graduated college from Tennessee Tech.

Q: What degeree?
A: I graduated with a secondary education degree.

Q: What was your first job?
A: My first job was at Cedar Shoals High School.

Q: Where all have you coached in your career?
A: I have coached at Cedar Shoals high school in GA, Smith County TN, White Co. TN, Oconee County GA, Elbert County GA, Valdosta High School GA, South Forsyth High School GA.

Q: Tell us about your current head coaching position and school?
A: I am head coach at South Forsyth High School in Cumming GA right now. I have been here 4 years. It is a 6A school with about 2700 students.

Q: Tell us about your family (Spouse, kids) What does your wife do and kid info, age, schools sports etc?
A: I have been married for 13 years to Page and have two awesome kids. A ten year old girl(Kennedy) and a 6 year old boy(Jackson).

Q: What is your fondest memory of Rockwood Tiger Football?
A: It is hard to say what my fondest memories are of playing football at Rockwood because there was so many. I guess if I had to say one it would be the relationships that I built with the guys that I was fortunate enough to get to play with.

Q: Do you have any memories of your Harriman or Kingston games?
A: The thing that I remember most about the rivals that we had between Harriman and Kingston would be just how much it meant to the players, coaches and everybody in the town. Also we beat the crap out of Harriman my senior year thirty something to nothing, that felt pretty good to.

Q: When is the last time you attended a Rockwood game?
A: I haven’t seen a Rockwood game since I had to coach against Rockwood when I was a young coach at Smith County. That was tough.

Q: Any final thoughts or comments?
A: The great thing about being a tiger is it doesn’t matter how far away you get from Rockwood or how many years it’s been since you’ve seen a game: Once a tiger always a tiger!
